Hello my name is Glen "Trey" Rorie. The nickname "trey" comes from the fact that I am the third Glen Rorie. I was born and raised in Leesburg, VA. I am a Virginia Tech graduate with a bachelor's degree in Multimedia Journalism with a Concentration in Sports media and Analytics and minored in Science, Technology and Law (STL).
Growing up I was really into sports, football and basketball to be particular. In my sophomore year of high school I decided to take on the challenge of running track and found a new love for running and track and field as a whole. At Virginia Tech, I competed as a member of its club track and field team.
During my time at Virginia Tech, I have written over 50+ articles for Collegiate Times. Throughout my time at Virginia Tech I have improved my photography, videography, writing, and designs abilities through various courses. i graduated in December 2022 with my bachelor's degree in multimedia journalism: concentration in sports media and analytics and a minor in Stl.
In September 2023, i became an education beat reporter for northern Virginia daily (nvd) located in Strasburg, va. at the nvd, i have already written over 100+ ranging from education to sports to local government and a handful of featured pieces. In 2025, I received a Virginia Press Association award for my coverage of the renaming of two schools in Shenandoah County, VA.
In march 2025, I moved from education to energy, becoming the reporter for the radWaste & Materials beat with Exchange Monitor based in Arlington, Va.
